Partner at Graves Garrett
Eddie is a partner at Graves Garrett LLC in Kansas City, Missouri, where he practices in complex commercial litigation and appellate, free speech, election, and constitutional law. Most recently, he filed the first class action lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service for its discrimination against conservative and libertarian applicants for tax-exempt status.
A recipient of Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s 2013 Influential Lawyer of the Year award, Eddie has argued before the Missouri Supreme Court on four occasions and has been tapped on controversial issues including trial and appellate challenges to the Missouri Court Plan.
He has been active with the Catholic Lawyers Guild since he returned to his native state from New York City in 2006. He was recently elected as the Chairman of the Public Policy Committee of the Missouri Catholic Conference, and lives in the Brookside neighborhood with his wife, Claudia (also an attorney) and three daughters. He is a member of Visitation Parish, the Knights of Columbus, and the Federalist Society.
Eddie received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2002 and two bachelor’s degrees, summa cum laude, in economics and political science from the University of Missouri.
